Lucy Dabner is a Bristol (UK) based artist and illustrator specialising in non-human animals and the natural world. She loves to work in mixed media to create interesting textures of animal skin, fur and feathers, whilst capturing the essence of an animal in a realistic but illustrative way. Her materials most often include watercolour, coloured pencil, ink, pastels and crayon, but are entirely guided by the effect that she wants to achieve. The only rule is to use whatever works!
Lucy is an enthusiastic advocate for animal rights and compassionate conservation and wants to use her illustrations to help the viewer connect with non-human animals through beautiful mark-making, textures, and compositions. Through visual language, Lucy aims to encourage reverence, understanding and empathy for non-human animal stories, their lives, and their point of view.
Please feel free to contact Lucy about commissions, collaborations, projects or workshops.
